We have operations in four different school units: Björna, Gideå, Hemling, and Trehörningsjö. We offer after-school care, preschool classes, and primary school with students from preschool to grade nine.

In our school district, we work largely in an age-integrated manner. The class sizes are small, creating a close and familiar atmosphere in the schools.

Job Responsibilities

You will work as a teaching teacher in grades 1-6 at Björnaskolan. You will belong to the F-6 team and may take on additional responsibilities for teaching based on the school's needs.

You will join a school with experienced colleagues where you together in the team are responsible for driving and developing the educational work by planning, implementing, and following up on teaching with the curriculum and municipal goals as benchmarks.

Contact and collaboration with parents is an important part of the work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a qualified primary school teacher with the authority to teach in grades F-6. Even if you have other qualifications, you are welcome to apply. If you are offered a position, it will be a temporary employment as an unqualified teacher.

We seek someone who enjoys challenges and thinking innovatively, who sees differences and diversity as a foundation for learning and development. You are a secure adult and a clear leader in the classroom. You meet students at their level and conditions and use a low-arousal approach. Being a role model and creating a positive atmosphere in the student group and team is a given for you.

You are attentive, responsible, engaged, and creative. Good initiative and flexibility are qualities we highly value.

For those new to the profession, Örnsköldsvik municipality offers an introductory program for new teachers, which means that during your first year you will have a mentor. Your mentor is an experienced teacher with the same subject qualifications who can guide and support you.

A valid driver's license (category B) is an asset.

For some positions, an extract from the police's suspicion and criminal record is required.

We welcome language skills in Finnish and/or any of the Sami varieties, as Örnsköldsvik municipality is part of both Finnish and Sami administrative areas.

In our municipality, several positions are placed in security class, so a security check may take place. These positions require Swedish citizenship.
