Special Education Teacher in Mathematics at Nolaskolan

Örnsköldsvik Gymnasium has two school buildings, Parkskolan and Nolaskolan.

We have a total of over 1800 students distributed across five college preparatory programs and ten vocational programs, as well as introductory programs and adapted upper secondary school. Örnsköldsvik Gymnasium has been designated as a training school, which means that VFU students are a regular feature in the school.

This position is located at Nolaskolan. If you are commuting by train or bus, it is easy to reach Nolaskolan as it is within walking distance to both the travel center and Örnsköldsvik Norra railway station.

Job Responsibilities

Your main task is to provide support and assistance to students who face challenges in mathematics. You should be comfortable with both the early courses and levels as well as the later courses and levels, as students at the school study courses from Mathematics 1 a-c to Mathematics 5 and corresponding levels, and the support needs exist at all levels.

You will work closely with both the teaching mathematics teachers, special teachers, and special educators in the student health team. You will alternate between participating in classrooms, supporting groups of students, and meeting with individual students depending on the needs that arise. You will also support teachers in didactic issues. Part of your working time will be spent in what we call "307:an," where students can go for support in various subjects or study in a quiet environment. During the autumn and sports holidays, support in the form of holiday school may be relevant on some days.

Your work includes establishing, following up, and evaluating action programs, managing other documentation, and maintaining contact with teaching staff, students, and guardians.

The assignment also involves participating in collaborative work with others in the student health team.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained special education teacher and additionally a certified teacher at the upper secondary level with subject competence in mathematics.
