The role of support educator with us

As a support educator with us, you will focus on working with and developing behaviors to create the right conditions for individuals to achieve a good quality of life and a functioning everyday life. The goal is for the individual to be able to acquire knowledge and have learning and development work through a pedagogical setup with the support of a special educator. The work involves working with individuals and collaborating to make adjustments with method developers and special educators regarding schedules, content, and arrangements to promote learning and development.

The role is characterized by a culture of sharing where we collectively take responsibility, inspire, collaborate, and support each other. Based on scientific principles and proven experience, you are expected to actively work to clarify, communicate, and see the individual's development needs.

Your tasks:

• Work with AAC and clarifying pedagogy.
• Daily work with individuals
• Social documentation and follow-up of implementation plans
• You adapt your working methods according to the individual's and the organization's needs.
• Work to enable the individual to become as independent as possible based on their abilities and thereby create the right conditions for development.
• Work with ADL activities in daily life.
• Work with motivation and stimulation for the student's well-being and health

Your profile

As a person, you work well with others, are accommodating, and attentive in your interactions. You create new contacts as well as maintain your current work relationships. You take responsibility and drive your work forward, delivering results and prioritizing your work effectively. You adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes. You take initiatives and come up with new approaches to work-related issues. We are looking for someone who is positive, secure, and stable. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who:

• has relevant work experience with intellectual disabilities, autism.
• has worked with low-arousal approaches, AAC - alternative and augmentative communication,
• has good knowledge of IBIC (Individual's Needs in Focus).
• has experience with the Combine system.
• has experience with individual work
• is an educated support educator, social educator, or has another pedagogical post-secondary education

It is meritorious:

• if you have knowledge and competence regarding PWS - Prader Willi syndrome.
• if you have experience in care and support coordination, psychiatry, protective techniques, or experience that the employer assesses as equivalent.
