Borgarskolan is one of Gävle's three municipal high schools with about 1000 students and 100 employees. The school has two university preparatory programs, a vocational program, and introductory programs - individual alternatives and language introduction. Borgarskolan is located in central Gävle, within walking distance to Gävle's central station. We offer education in a creative and stimulating work environment for our students, with well-educated and engaged teachers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to make a real difference in the future of young people? In the Introductory Program, you meet students who need extra support to find their way towards high school eligibility, studies, or working life. With us, you work in an environment where relationship-building, flexibility, and engagement are at the center.

Together with your colleagues, you contribute to a joyful, varied, and quality school day where students' development and well-being are in focus. You support and challenge the students so that they achieve good study results and adapt the teaching according to their different needs and conditions. The work is carried out in collaboration with other educators, student health, guardians, and other actors outside the school.

Your tasks include, among other things:

• Being a mentor and teaching students in the introductory program.
• Planning, implementing, assessing, and evaluating the teaching.
• Mapping students' needs and adapting teaching according to their conditions.
• Working in accordance with established goals and guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

As a teacher, you have a natural ability to lead and motivate students and create an environment where they thrive and feel good. You create clarity and predictability to give each student the right conditions to develop according to their ability.

We are looking for you with:

• Teaching certification with authorization to teach mathematics grades 7-9 (applies to one of the positions).
• Teaching certification with authorization to teach one or more core subjects grades 7-9, math/swedish/english (applies to the other position).
• Knowledge of the curriculum for compulsory school.
• Good knowledge of working with digital tools in teaching and planning.
• The ability to express yourself well in the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

It is desirable if you have experience working with students in great need of support, preferably within NFP/autism spectrum.

To succeed in the role, you are:

• Unpretentious, positive, and relationship-building; you create safety and trust with students and colleagues.
• Motivating and good at creating a pleasant and inclusive learning environment.
• Stable and secure in your leadership in the classroom by maintaining calm even in challenging situations.
• Flexible and quick to adapt to the needs of students and the organization.
• Structured and plan your work well, prioritizing to achieve good results.

You as a final candidate must be able to present a criminal record from the police for work in schools or preschools. This should not be attached to your application.
