Västerbergs Folk High School is looking for a Teacher in Swedish
Västerbergs Folk High School is located in Storvik in Sandviken Municipality, with good transport links and commuting distance to, for example, Gävle and Falun. Here you will meet people from different backgrounds and of all ages from 18 years and older. The folk high school prepares for the rest of life and is an educational form for adults who want formal competence, develop their creative sides or deepen their subject knowledge in various areas. We have about 40 employees and 270 participants at the school.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The position includes teaching in general courses in Swedish and Swedish as a second language at both basic and upper secondary levels. It also includes mentorship for a group of students, assessment, and other usual teacher tasks. Teaching can take place both within our distance courses and courses that are on-site. Being part of a work team and actively participating in the joint development work, both within the general course and at the school as a whole, are also important parts of the assignment. The position is located at Västerbergs Folk High School and the work cannot be performed remotely.

QUALIFICATIONS
The position requires a good ability to work independently as well as closely with others. You need to have good planning and organizational skills and be flexible. You have a helpful attitude that means meeting students and colleagues with respect, attentiveness, and a genuine desire to understand different perspectives. For us, humility means being unpretentious, collaborating openly, and seeing each individual based on their own conditions and goals. It also means being receptive to learning and change, and contributing to a safe and inclusive environment where everyone has the opportunity to grow.
In the role of teacher, you should have:
- subject competence in Swedish at the university level or equivalent
- pedagogical education
- professional experience as a teacher
- good IT skills.
Experience of folk high school pedagogy is an advantage, and if you have subject competence in Swedish as a second language.
