JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a temporary employee within the Education sector in Gävle, you will have a varied workplace where you work with children and young people, within primary and/or secondary school. You can work as a qualified teacher, unqualified teacher, or teaching assistant.

You are an important part of maintaining a good quality in the educational activities. Through your work, you contribute to ensuring that teaching and student support can be carried out even in the absence of regular staff or during temporary high workloads.

By working well with colleagues in the team, you take responsibility for the overall environment at the workplace, follow given instructions, and work according to Gävle municipality's values and the curricula of primary and secondary schools.

As a temporary employee, you primarily support during the absence of regular staff but also during temporary high workloads. You step in when needed and where needed. It is a flexible job, and you will have the opportunity to work with varied tasks in different units.

The working hours as a substitute can vary from day to day as you work when the activity has needs. Some weeks you may work a lot while other weeks may be less. We expect you to be available to work at least 50% of full-time. The more you can work with us, the better.

Your tasks include:

• Conducting teaching and/or student support according to given instructions
• Supporting students in their learning and development
• Maintaining a good quality in the educational activities
• Following given instructions and working according to Gävle municipality's values and the curricula of primary and secondary schools
• Collaborating with colleagues in the team and taking responsibility for the overall environment at the workplace
• Supporting the activity during the absence of regular staff and during temporary high workloads

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who wants to work within the Education sector in Gävle and contribute to a safe and high-quality educational environment. Whether you are a qualified teacher, want to work as an unqualified teacher, or as a teaching assistant, it is important that you have a genuine interest in children's and students' education and well-being.

Formal qualifications:

• Teacher education and qualification (for work as a qualified teacher)
• Completed and approved high school education (for work as an unqualified teacher)
• Ability to express yourself well in the Swedish language in both speech and writing
• Ability to follow instructions and planning as well as convey knowledge in a clear and simple way

We also offer work as a teaching assistant. In this role, you need to be able to help an individual student who needs support to benefit from the teaching. This may involve a student with reading and writing difficulties, concentration problems, psychosocial difficulties, or various types of disabilities.

To succeed in this role, you are:

• Collaborative and demonstrate an unpretentious approach in your cooperation with others
• Relationship-building and have the ability to create trusting relationships
• Confident in your role and able to lead and motivate children/students so that they thrive and feel good
• Communicative and good at creating an open dialogue, adapting your language to the situation, and making children/students feel included and a sense of belonging
