Hedängskolan for grades 6-9 is a school with approximately 260 students and about 35 employees. The school is located in Storvik with good communication options by bus/train. In the school's vicinity, there are nature trails, ski tracks, an ice rink, swimming, a sports field, and a newly built sports hall used in the operations. There is also a F-5 school on the school grounds with which we have a good collaboration.

JOB DESCRIPTION

In the role of special educator, you will work closely with students, educators, and school management to develop structures and methods for support measures at the individual, group, and organizational levels. The assignment involves contributing to a promoting and preventive student health work with the student's best interests in focus. You will work closely on the school and continuously collaborate with the student health team within the Knowledge Administration, which provides medical, psychological, social, and special educational expertise.

You contribute by:

• Guiding staff and being a qualified conversation partner and advisor
• Conducting pedagogical investigations and analyzing students' needs for special support
• Actively participating in the school's student health work and providing input to the deputy principal before decisions on measures
• Actively contributing to teaching development by working collegially and developing teaching methods that strengthen students' knowledge development
• Collaborating with other school forms, external competencies, and guardians
• Contributing to increased use of alternative learning tools

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in this role, you need to be confident in your professional approach and easily build trusting relationships. An analytical and structured work style facilitates handling complex situations and following up on measures over time. Responsiveness and good collaboration skills are important in meetings with students, staff, and guardians, as well as for creating a shared understanding in student health work. You are engaged and have an interest in development issues, which makes you a valuable part of the organization.

The following is required for the assignment:

• Teaching certification with further education as a special educator
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written

Experience working as a special educator or similar, as well as familiarity with documentation in journal systems, is meritorious.
