About the Role

As a substitute teacher, you will work in the municipality's preschools. Our preschool operations are consistent throughout the municipality, making it easy for you to recognize routines and working methods no matter where you are placed for the day.

For the children's safety, familiarity is important, which is why we value continuity among our substitutes.

Working Hours:

The operation runs Monday to Friday between 06:00–18:00. You will enter your availability in our staffing system and will be booked as needed. Bookings can occur at short notice, which means we are looking for someone who is flexible and ready to step in when needed.

Your Responsibilities

As a substitute teacher in preschool, you are an important adult in the children's daily lives. You are a safe, calm, and curious role model who, together with the regular staff, creates a secure and positive environment.

In your role, you will among other things:

• participate in and support learning through play, creativity, reading, and movement
• eat together with the children and contribute to a calm and safe meal situation
• create peaceful moments during rest
• be a support for each child and contribute to good contact with guardians
• collaborate closely with educators in daily work

Each preschool in Hjo municipality promotes outdoor activities; we work outside in all weather for large parts of the workday. Although we have good tools and routines to reduce physical strain, the work may involve lifting and working on the floor. The job also requires that you feel safe and comfortable in situations involving personal care and hygiene, and that you approach these tasks with respect, professionalism, and a caring attitude.

• master Swedish well in both spoken and written form

Since our substitutes staff all preschools in the municipality, including in rural areas, a valid driver's license and access to a car are advantageous.
