Job Responsibilities

In the role of Development Coordinator focused on urban planning, you will work with and coordinate urban planning issues in an overarching strategic context. Responsibilities may vary over time, but initially, there is a need to address issues related to housing supply and comprehensive planning.

A central part of the assignment is to conduct investigations, compile material, and produce factual and qualified analyses and decision-making documents for the municipal executive board and other target groups. This involves planning, investigating, writing, and reporting, as well as preparing and responding to consultations. You will also be responsible for monitoring the external environment and for the follow-up and evaluation of relevant issues and initiatives.

Another important aspect of the job is to participate in and coordinate various cross-municipal working groups and networks, as well as engage in external collaboration. This means that the position offers a broad network, both within and outside Malmö City, and may involve some travel. You are expected to contribute to development work taking place within the unit and the department for external relations and business.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an academic education in a relevant field and experience in qualified work within urban planning. You should be accustomed to producing documentation, analyzing complex information, and communicating clearly and appropriately both orally and in writing. It is advantageous if you have worked with political decision-making processes, for example, by preparing cases and writing consultation responses. You have experience in a coordinating role, preferably as a project manager or process leader.

You have excellent skills in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

To succeed in this role, you need to be self-driven, structured, and able to take responsibility for driving processes forward. You think strategically and can easily see the bigger picture, long-term consequences, and how different parts are interconnected. Your working style is characterized by good collaboration skills, and you relate to others in a responsive and professional manner. You are confident in yourself, have good self-awareness, and can handle stressful situations with stability and focus. Your understanding of the whole allows you to always act with the best interests of the entire organization in mind.

About the Workplace
