Prolympia is Sweden's leading sports school at the primary school level, operating from Gothenburg in the south to Umeå in the north. Prolympia in Sundsvall is located in a scenic area in Haga for grades F-6, close to outdoor areas, Baldershov Athletics Field, and Norrmalm Football Stadium. Grades 7-9 are centrally located at the Neptunus block in Stenstan. About You

Prolympia in Sundsvall is now looking for a special education teacher for grades 7-9.

You are a driven person with a positive attitude and share our values and fundamental view of sports as a tool for creating good health and strong academic results. You also have good communication skills, are clear in your leadership, and find it easy to collaborate. In your daily work, you have the ability to create trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You work with an inclusive approach, actively engaging in student influence, pedagogical planning, and formative assessment from a salutogenic perspective. You should also have a strong work ethic.

Job Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include supporting students with challenges in finding strategies to absorb instruction in the best way. You work with smaller student groups and sometimes one-on-one. At Prolympia, we follow a specific approach regarding extra adaptations, special support, and instruction for our special teachers and special educators. It is very important that you are flexible and accustomed to working at a fast pace.

As staff, you also contribute to making everyday life work for students, which may include pedagogical lunch, recess supervision, and homework help. The expectations of the assignment follow the regulations and general advice from the Swedish National Agency for Education.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with post-secondary education in pedagogy and teacher training with certification and relevant qualifications to teach students in primary, middle, and high school. We see that you have a good understanding of the school's mission and previous experience in pedagogical work. Furthermore, you should have good IT skills and be accustomed to using digital tools in daily work. Personal suitability will also be given great importance.

The position is full-time with a 6-month probationary period. For employment, a criminal record extract related to work in schools and preschools is required and must be less than one year old.
