The Communications Unit is responsible for the municipality's overall and collective communication assignments. We work broadly with internal and external communication with the goal of reaching out with our communication in our channels, to both employees and citizens.

One of our communicators will be on parental leave, and we are now looking for her substitute. As a communicator with us, you will contribute to our communication work and help highlight Östhammar Municipality as an attractive place to live, reside, and work. You will support our operations in both strategic and operational communication issues. You will work both in teams and independently with responsibility for specific projects, collaborations, and communication activities, with particular responsibility for social media. You will have good opportunities to work on many different assignments within the communication field and to take on varied tasks. The Communications Unit is part of Communication & Customer Service and is located in the municipal building in Östhammar.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a communicator with us, you will among other things:

• Produce, process, publish, and communicate news and other information in text, images, and video in our communication channels
• Be responsible for social channels as well as plan, produce, and publish content
• Provide communicative support to other operations and offices
• Participate in and also be responsible for various communication activities
• Handle incoming cases in our functional mailboxes
• Develop communication plans for various activities and projects

The position is a full-time substitute until August 31, 2027. There is an opportunity for some remote work.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in media and communication or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You have experience working with the most common Adobe programs (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Express), and of course, you also handle Outlook and Office programs in your daily work. It is an advantage if you have digital skills and can create content, film, edit, and publish for social media, intranet, and website.

You need to have at least two years in a communicator role or similar assignments that the employer deems equivalent. Furthermore, we see that you have experience working both in teams and with your own responsibility. Naturally, you have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing, are meticulous, pedagogical, and meet deadlines. We would like you to have experience working with communication campaigns and act as communication support in various projects. If you have previous experience working in public services, it is an advantage. It is also advantageous if you have experience working with web publishing tools such as Optimizely (Episerver). As a person, you are flexible and can handle working on several assignments simultaneously.
