Field of Operations: Medicine, Dermatology, and Rheumatology
We are Akademiska sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a regional hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer care to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother is operated on, a colleague is celebrated as a hero. With us, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, in a strong community with colleagues. See parts of our reality in our photo exhibition; akademiskafotoutstallning.se (http://akademiskafotoutstallning.se). Welcome with your application!
Our Operations
AVA is one of the hospital's largest care departments, and here you will be welcomed by a well-established workgroup consisting of nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, pharmacists, and other important health professionals motivated to provide high-quality care. We also have staff with special functions such as discharge and education nurses. Our shared experience and different ideas for solutions have been the key to our success.
In the acute care department 65A2 (AVA), we primarily care for patients with internal medical diagnoses. Patients with chest pain, arrhythmias, heart failure, infections, diabetes, pulmonary embolisms, and venous thrombosis come to us. The lengths of stay are relatively short, which means a high inflow and outflow of patients that must be planned and coordinated.
Your Mission
As a department coordinator, you will be involved in many different processes in the department. You are the face of the department, both towards patients and relatives but also towards staff in other units in the hospital. You are a support in the daily work in the department and have close cooperation with managers and other employees. Examples of tasks include:
- Fax and mail handling.
- Responsible for the department phone.
- Assist in coordinating admissions and discharges in the department.
- Finance and ordering – book hourly staff, register care costs, order materials, etc.
- Be the contact person for the department and the “spider in the web”.
Your Qualifications
We prefer that you are a trained nursing assistant with experience in patient-centered care, but this is not a requirement. It is advantageous if you have previous experience with similar tasks. You should have good computer skills, and it is a plus if you have experience working in the Cosmic journal system.
Your Competence
You are solution-oriented with good administrative and organizational skills. You need to be stress-resistant and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. We prefer that you enjoy working with people and are engaged, positive, and thrive in a team environment. You work independently and take great personal responsibility for your tasks.
We Offer
Permanent full-time employment (100%). Working hours are Monday to Friday, daytime. A probationary period of up to 6 months may be applicable. Start date as soon as possible by agreement. With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference, read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).
