We are looking for someone who wants to help us create a sustainable metropolis for the next generation! In Uppsala, we welcome innovative urban development. Unlike most other municipalities, Uppsala is facing stable growth in the coming years. To enable this, we are working on a variety of community building projects of different kinds. We are developing entirely new neighborhoods and existing urban environments, building trams and station areas. We create spaces for innovative housing projects, for business development, and for community services. We build city center environments and develop the countryside. You will be part of a team of about 20 economists, controllers, and unit managers who support the urban development administration's various areas. Together, we have a broad competence in finance. We are a wonderful group that works together in good dialogue and an open work environment to achieve our goals. The unit you will belong to currently consists of four project economists, two project controllers, and one unit manager. We work together on urban development in exploitation projects, which include the sale of land and the expansion of infrastructure such as Rosendal and Ulleråker.

We work digitally and activity-based with our base in the municipality's new city hall next to the travel center in Uppsala. You also have the opportunity to work part of your time remotely.

Job Description

You are part of community building projects. You will have a lot of contact with project managers for the exploitation projects. The projects are staffed with experts in planning, construction, traffic and mobility, as well as building permits, and you are responsible for being an economic support in the projects, together with the project economist. You are also involved in the work with the urban development administration's project portfolio. As a project controller, you are responsible for ensuring stable and clear financial management in the municipality's exploitation projects and also with the overall project portfolio. The role includes analyzing and quality assuring project calculations, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow analyses throughout the projects' life cycles. You act as a qualified support to project managers and managers by explaining economic consequences, identifying risks and opportunities, and contributing to well-founded decisions. The focus is on developing a proactive working method. The position includes supporting strategic and tactical work in the projects and the portfolio. You may also be responsible for or participate in business development, where your expertise helps us find effective working methods. In the group of project economists and project controllers, we help each other and constantly strive to develop together in our roles to continuously strengthen financial management and uphold good accounting practices.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in finance, property economics, urban development, or another education that provides a good understanding of financial analyses and project calculations. To succeed in the role, you need to have experience working in project form and supporting project managers and managers. The work requires that you have good oral and written skills in Swedish and good knowledge of Microsoft 365. The role requires a person who is used to working with complex issues and has a good understanding of budget processes, cash flows, and financial management. You should be comfortable handling large amounts of data, producing business decision support, and communicating economic consequences clearly and pedagogically.

If you have experience working in property, infrastructure, or contracting, it is considered an advantage. It is also beneficial if you have experience with project follow-up and work as a project controller.

The job suits you if you are analytical and good at seeing connections and solving complex questions and problems. Additionally, you are development-oriented, drive, and implement change.
