Group Manager for Telephone Service at Uppsala Diocese Office

The Telephone Service at Uppsala Diocese Office handles nearly 50% of the incoming calls to the Church of Sweden from parishes, pastorates, and diocesan offices across the country.

The vision is to eventually become the contact center for the entire Church of Sweden. We are now looking for a group manager for our Telephone Service who wants to lead and develop the work and contribute to making the vision a reality.

About the position

The Telephone Service handles many different types of calls, with people in various stages of life. These calls concern everything from baptisms, weddings, funerals, and much more. Our staff is often the first contact for many with the Church of Sweden, which means we expect a professional and humble approach.

As the group manager for Telephone Service, your responsibility is to lead and develop the work within the operation. You are also responsible for ensuring that the goals of Telephone Service are met:

• Satisfied customers
• A robust operation, with well-functioning routines and good internal collaboration
• Strengthening the financial viability of parishes and pastorates
• Developing a strategy and plan to become the contact center for the entire Church of Sweden

Main tasks as group manager:

• Lead and develop the work within the group and with Telephone Service's services
• Budget and operational planning, in consultation with the unit manager
• Create good conditions for employees in the operation to perform their tasks
• Carry out managerial tasks according to the annual cycle, such as employee conversations and following up on workplace environment issues in daily work
• Introduce new employees within the group
• Be responsible for marketing and informing about Telephone Service's services
• Administrative handling of contracts and monthly invoicing

The Telephone Service currently consists of five telephone operators and two coordinators, who you as group manager will be the immediate supervisor for. The operation belongs to the Service Bureau Development unit, which delivers several other services in the areas of law, HR, archives, and IT to parishes and pastorates.

The position is a permanent employment, with a 6-month probationary period possibly applicable.

You are self-driven and take responsibility for pushing your issues forward, while also having a flexible attitude and can quickly adapt when circumstances change. You communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, and find it easy to convey your message. You work in a structured manner and have good analytical skills that help you identify needs, follow up results, and drive improvements in the operation.

We are looking for you with:

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant to the operation
• Professional experience in telephone exchange solutions
• Professional experience in leadership
• Experience with telephone exchange and IT systems, such as Telia ACE, Telia Touchpoint, and M365

It is an advantage if you have:

• Professional experience as a group leader with personnel responsibility
