At the unit for crisis preparedness and civil defense at the Municipal Executive Office, we work long-term and sustainably to strengthen and develop the municipality's crisis preparedness and capability for civil defense. We are now looking for two committed and driven crisis preparedness coordinators to join our unit.
The deteriorating security political situation affects us all and places new and greater demands on municipalities to handle both peacetime crises and heightened readiness. As a crisis preparedness coordinator in Uppsala Municipality, you contribute to strengthening the municipality's preparedness while having the opportunity to develop alongside competent colleagues.
The unit for crisis preparedness and civil defense is responsible for supporting and coordinating the municipal group's work with crisis preparedness and civil defense. This includes process management and development assignments, training, exercises, investigations, participation in the county administrative board's network, and contacts with other authorities. The unit is located at the Municipal Executive Office but works on assignments throughout the municipality. Many developmental meetings and insights into others' operations are therefore enriching elements and are often highlighted by employees as particularly positive.
Our workplace is in the City Hall, located just a stone's throw from Uppsala Central Station. If the work allows, there is an opportunity to work remotely on certain days of the week.

Job Description
In the role of crisis preparedness coordinator, you are responsible for coordinating and driving the municipality's work with crisis preparedness and civil defense. The work takes place in complex contexts with many actors, where you ensure structure, progress, and quality. You will independently represent the municipality in relevant external contexts, authority contacts, and regional networks. Presentations and training initiatives are a natural part of the role.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with an academic degree in a field that the employer deems relevant and several years of experience working with crisis preparedness and civil defense. You have excellent knowledge of the Swedish preparedness system and the roles and responsibilities of various actors in total defense. The work requires good knowledge of Microsoft 365.
If you have experience working in public administration and/or politically governed organizations, it is an advantage, as well as previous experience in crisis management, population protection, and/or security protection.
As a person, you are analytical and can switch between a strategic and an operational approach depending on the task and situation. You are a team player who can both lead workgroups and be an active and engaged participant. Furthermore, you are solution-oriented and enjoy working on multiple tasks simultaneously. You are independent, structured, and good at planning and prioritizing your own work. Last but not least, you are passionate about strengthening Sweden's total defense!
