About the job
You will be the manager of the Unit of Method and Planning, which has the overall responsibility for the Swedish National Agency for Education's operational processes for school development. Your role is central to the department's ongoing work to develop these processes so that the agency can better meet the school system's needs for support in school development. The unit is also responsible for preparatory work and the department's work with the agency's annual report and other follow-ups.
A key part of your assignment will be to develop and integrate partially new tasks with the existing operations of the unit. You will play a central role in strengthening and implementing the work of establishing routines and processes based on scientific grounding and proven experience throughout the agency. This work is both exciting and challenging.
You will lead the unit's employees and be responsible for personnel, operations, budget, and results. Together with your colleagues and with the support of the agency's processes, you will develop the operations so that the unit's mission is carried out effectively and efficiently, and you will regularly follow up on the results of the unit's work. The unit consists of 10-15 employees with various competencies in the areas for which the unit is responsible.
You will be part of the department's management team and work closely with your fellow managers. In your role, you will be responsible for contributing to both the department and the agency as a whole achieving their goals. Your tasks will also include representing the agency externally and in the media.

In this job, you should have:
- an academic degree in a field that the agency deems relevant
- several years of current managerial experience including personnel, operational, and budget responsibility
- experience working in a process-driven organization
- current experience in developing methods to strengthen scientific grounding and proven experience
- experience from working in government administration
- excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.
It is an advantage if you have a doctorate and experience collaborating with higher education institutions to develop scientific materials. It is also advantageous if you have experience in change management and handling media.
As a person, you need to:
- have good strategic ability and see how issues are interconnected and can enrich each other
- have excellent collaboration skills and the ability to create good relationships
- be flexible and able to adapt to new conditions
- show and spread engagement, be proactive in leading development, and focus on results
- have good judgment and be calm and secure in the role of a leader.
