Unit Manager for Market and Procurement (M&I)
Do you want to lead in a complex environment and contribute to something that really makes a difference? Do you thrive when the map is not fully drawn and the pace is high? With us, you can use your skills to create a safer Sweden and a more secure world. We are looking for someone who sees opportunities, thrives in a dynamic environment, and wants to help shape the organization for the future.
About the Position
As a manager, you contribute to FMV's position as Sweden's leading procurement authority and ensure that our procurements lead to the delivery of goods and services under the best possible commercial terms. You will be responsible for a unit within the department and report to the department head.
The department currently has four units: indirect goods and services, consulting procurement, land, network and IT security, as well as radar, marine and aviation. You will be the responsible manager for one of these units with approximately 15-18 employees, which is in a growth phase. Your employees provide supportive functions within procurement/purchasing and commercial issues for the agency's various operations.
The units are responsible for strategic purchasing work, including procurement as well as ordering and follow-up within management support systems, sensors, optronics, and services within IT, transportation, infrastructure, and technical consulting. For areas where relevant, the work is conducted in accordance with the methodology for category management/strategic purchasing.
Your ability to lead, organize, and develop the unit's work and your employees is crucial for achieving good results. As a manager, you are a key person in communication between employees and management. You ensure that resources and competencies are used effectively and strategically. You are also an important support in complex issues – from legal interpretation to business decisions and internal regulations.
The role includes collaborating with other parts of M&I, FMV, and the Armed Forces, where part of your mission is to actively build and strengthen these collaborations. You play an active role in the development within M&I – contributing to everything from supply security, contract follow-up, and financing models during procurement to internal initiatives that strengthen the organization and promote innovation.
As a manager, you represent FMV's vision, goals, and values. You take responsibility for developing and practicing good leadership according to FMV's leadership principles; leading by example, trust, openness, and results.
The position is located in Stockholm. Business travel may occur.
About You
We are looking for someone with relevant academic education or equivalent competence acquired in another way that we consider equivalent. You have current and relevant managerial experience, which makes you confident in your management and leadership. To succeed in this role, you also need several years of current and relevant experience in complex procurements/purchases/businesses, either in an implementation role or as a responsible manager. You also have knowledge of LOU/LUFS. The position requires good knowledge of both Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
We prefer candidates who have worked in an international environment, and it is advantageous if you have experience in material supply to the Armed Forces and/or have experience in change management as the organization is in an expansive phase.
Personal qualities are of great importance to us, and we welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences. As a manager with us, you lead the organization with clear direction and determination. You ensure that both short-term and long-term goals are achieved through structured work, accountability, and anchoring with employees. You build trusting relationships and promote an inclusive, respectful work environment where engagement, community, and diversity are at the center. With stability, courage, and integrity, you take responsibility for decisions and actions, lead with a focus on values, and act confidently even in challenging situations. You have a business-oriented approach and through strategic holistic thinking, you prioritize and coordinate resources, drive improvements, and strengthen the agency's long-term development and trust.
