Do you want to work in a city where ideas quickly become reality and where you see the results of your work? In Sundbyberg, there is a close connection between people, decisions, and opportunities. Here, you can truly make an impact while developing and growing in your role.
We are now looking for an engaged and experienced unit manager for our Food Unit - a leader who wants to develop and drive the unit's work forward.
Your responsibilities will include food control as well as supervision according to the Alcohol Act, tobacco legislation, the sale of over-the-counter medicines, and certain lotteries.
As a unit manager, you have overall responsibility for the unit's operations, staff, and budget. You ensure that the work is carried out efficiently, legally, and in accordance with applicable legislation, while creating good conditions for employee development and performance. The role involves leading and developing the unit's work through systematic work planning, follow-up, and analysis, ensuring that the committee process deadlines are met and that work plans are implemented in a structured and quality-assured manner. You are responsible for following up results, identifying areas for development, and reporting these clearly and reliably. Your leadership also includes ensuring a good working environment and continuously working on competence development within the unit.
You report directly to the head of the department for building permits and environmental supervision and are part of the department's management team.
We want you to have an academic degree in a relevant field or other experience that we consider equivalent. We also see that you have experience in food control or other relevant authority functions within the unit's areas of responsibility.
You have a good understanding of the complexity of authority functions in a politically governed organization and are both experienced and confident in coordinating, following up, and driving work forward. It is highly meritorious if you also have formal managerial or leadership experience with personnel, budget, and operational responsibility, preferably within municipal operations.
You are confident in your role, have the courage to make independent decisions, and value collaboration and responsiveness. As a leader, you are clear and solution-oriented. We place great importance on your personal suitability and your ability to lead and develop your operations in a complex environment.
The position is a permanent full-time employment. Start date according to agreement.
