"Photography is celebrating its 200th anniversary, and you have the opportunity to become one of the key figures in this jubilee year."
At the Swedish Photographers' Association (SFF), you are not just leading an office; you are leading an entire industry into the future: photographers, image creators, photo book authors, retouchers, photojournalists, artistic voices, and creative entrepreneurs who shape how Sweden looks and views itself every day.
You are equally comfortable in a meeting with the Ministry of Culture as in a room full of photographers wanting to discuss AI, copyright, compensation models, and everything at stake. And you thrive in that mix of politics, culture, craftsmanship, the value of images, and truly sharp minds.
This is the job for you who want to be at the center of the image storm, literally, while also operationally working with the daily issues at the office alongside your colleagues and the two boards of the association.
The role involves you getting to;
- Lead and further develop the work of the office.
- Represent SFF in Sweden and internationally, together with the association's elected representatives.
- Drive public opinion and write consultation responses.
- Negotiate agreements regarding copyright and compensation issues.
- Develop and deepen strategic collaborations.
- Represent the association in the media in close collaboration with the chairs.
The office consists of a small group of specialists, and you are the link between the operations and SFF's two boards. The assignment is shared in important parts with the two chairs of the association, and the external work is done in collaboration. The role requires presence and representation as well as a daily routine filled with meetings, conversations, and strategic dialogue.
You are offered
- A central role in Swedish cultural policy.
- A warm, competent, and engaged office.
- A broad network of photographers, cultural actors, and political parties.
- A varied everyday life with strategic, operational, and communicative work.
- Fair conditions, time off, and an organization where balance and well-being are important parts.
- A chance to make a real difference in a changing industry.
- Drive member benefits and recruitment.
- Plan and follow up on budget and operational plans.
