Leader for the Election Authority's Work with Democratic Elections

Do you want to lead the Election Authority's work in planning, implementing, and developing democratic elections in Sweden? We are looking for someone who is communicative, results-oriented, and has a strong commitment to contributing to safe and efficient election work.

About the Job

You will lead the work in a unit responsible for voting, accessibility, and election security. You will be responsible for a large part of the operational production for an election, which means you will lead, plan, follow up, and develop the work for about 12 employees. The unit works in two teams, each with a team leader. You will report to the head of the office.

You will be part of the Election Authority's management team and work closely with your colleagues to ensure effective and safe election implementation, contributing to the agency's overall operations, continuous development, and change. You will represent the Election Authority both internally and externally, maintaining a constant focus on sustaining high confidence in the election system and the agency. Your leadership will create conditions for an internal culture where we harness employees' engagement and competence while caring for our mission and each other. This requires insightful, courageous, secure, and attentive leadership.

The Swedish Tax Agency is the host agency for the Election Authority, and all employees of the Election Authority are employed by the Tax Agency, located at the Election Authority's office in Sundbyberg. The office consists of about 45 employees.

About You

You should also have:

• a relevant university degree of 180 higher education credits (120 credits in the old system) or several years of current and relevant managerial experience acquired from public operations
• several years of current and relevant managerial experience from public operations.

Good to Know

The employment is permanent and may begin with a six-month probationary period.

Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with background checks according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a hiring decision. For some of our tasks in security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
