The entire defense sector is facing historic growth, with the army sector at the center. Production is rapidly increasing, as is its complexity, requiring an organization ready to sharpen its focus and ensure the delivery of defense capabilities while creating the best conditions for employees and managers to succeed in our mission. We are now looking for two unit managers who want to be part of a historic journey where we work together to build a stronger defense!

About the Positions

For two newly established departments within the armament area, indirect fire and air defense, we are now seeking unit managers. As a unit manager, you have overall responsibility for leading, developing, and coordinating the unit's activities. The role includes responsibility for personnel, finance, and production, where a present and engaged leadership is combined with responsibility for future and ongoing production.

As a unit manager, you lead through two to three section managers who in turn have a number of subordinate employees. Each unit currently has 25-30 employees and is in growth. You will play a key role in creating conditions for managers and employees to grow, thrive, and contribute in a meaningful way.

As a unit manager, you are an important part of the management team of each department, and you take active responsibility for business development, both within the unit and across the entire department. This means initiating and driving development and improvement work with the goal of strengthening the organization's ability to meet future needs effectively.

Your work is carried out in close collaboration with other parts of FMV, the Armed Forces, and the industry, and part of the assignment involves representing the area in various external contexts in a business-like manner, where you will also represent Sweden internationally, both to industry and authorities. As a manager, you represent FMV's vision, goals, and values, and you report to the respective department head.

About You

We are looking for someone with a civil or engineering degree or equivalent competence acquired in another way that we assess as equivalent. You also have current and relevant management experience with full personnel responsibility. We would like you to have experience in management team work with knowledge of indirect leadership. It is very positive if you have worked with complex integrated technical systems as well as project management experience.

You may have experience from the defense industry and material or service supply to the Armed Forces with knowledge of the Armed Forces' and FMV's customer and ordering relationships and the regulations governing this, but this is not a requirement. We also view knowledge of the respective material system area positively. You communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing, and hold a B driver's license.

Personal qualities are of great importance to us, and we welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences. As a person, you have the ability to make correct assessments and priorities by weighing complex information and you have good judgment. You are business-minded, take into account the larger perspective, and can see to the best interests of the entire organization. You communicate in a clear but also attentive and adapted manner. Furthermore, you take initiative and achieve results and have an easy time adapting to changing circumstances and seeing opportunities in changes. You are stable, show courage and integrity, and can work independently while also having good collaboration skills.

The position includes travel both within and outside Sweden.
