We are now looking for a department manager in urban planning for Sigtuna municipality, starting immediately until 2026-06-30.

About the assignment

The assignment is a consulting position via Bemannia starting immediately and lasting until 2026-06-30. You will be based at the office in Sigtuna.

The department consists of two units: the unit for strategic planning and the unit for planning and development.

Your responsibilities

The assignment will involve leading the department's work with overall responsibility for results, personnel, and finances. The department's mission is to strengthen and develop strategic urban planning in the municipality. Areas of responsibility include:

• The municipality's comprehensive plan as well as overall planning and investigations regarding, for example, nature, water, and traffic issues.

• Detailed planning.

• Responsibility for the municipality's development and investment portfolio.

• The assignment also includes representing the municipality externally in urban development matters and collaborating with other municipalities' strategic planning functions.

Your qualifications

• University education in urban planning or equivalent experience obtained in another way.

• Experience in a leadership role within urban planning.

• Experience with municipal preparation and decision-making processes.

You have a natural holistic view, are skilled at creating professional relationships, and are a team player in successful collaboration with others. The assignment has many dimensions; to thrive in the role, you need to support the organization in working purposefully and structured in long strategic processes as well as ensuring that deadlines are met here and now.

Meritorious

• Experience representing the organization externally and negotiating with parties such as the Transport Administration, regions, etc.

• Experience in management and leadership, primarily leading through other managers.

• Knowledge of the Planning and Building Act as well as the Environmental Code.
