We are looking for an acting unit manager for two months

About the job

As the unit manager for the implementation of digital tests, you will have the main responsibility for planning the introduction of the digital national final exams, digital grading-supporting national assessment tools, and central grading. You will also be responsible for technical support of the Swedish National Agency for Education's test service as well as configuration and acceptance testing of the test platform.

You will lead a team of about ten employees and be responsible for personnel, operations, budget, and results. You will lead your unit in a way that fosters engagement and development. With the support of the Swedish National Agency for Education's processes, you will manage operations so that the unit's mission is carried out purposefully and efficiently, and you will regularly follow up on the results of the unit's work.

A key part of the job is to collaborate with other units within the Department of Curricula and within the agency. In the department's management group, you will work closely with your managerial colleagues and take responsibility for contributing to both the department and the agency as a whole achieving their goals.

In this job, you should have:

  • a relevant academic degree for the assignment
  • several years of experience leading teams and projects
  • experience in change and development work within digitalization in the education sector
  • experience of governmental governance
  • current knowledge of and experience working with issues related to collaboration in digitalization with school authorities and schools
  • be grounded in the Swedish education system and have good knowledge of its various school forms and governing documents
  • very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English.

It is advantageous to have experience working as a manager and with procurement of digital services for the education sector.

As a person, you need to

  • have good analytical skills and be able to quickly understand and grasp complex issues
  • be clear and straightforward in your communication to lead dialogue and motivate your employees
  • be relationship-building and have the ability to collaborate effectively and attentively with others
  • have the ability to see the whole and consider the best interests of the entire organization in actions and decisions.
