Leader for Forecasting and Macroanalysis at the Riksbank
Are you an engaged and responsible person who wants to lead the work with the Riksbank's forecasts and macroanalysis? Do you enjoy macroeconomic issues and want to contribute to a positive development in society? Then this is the job for you!
WE OFFER YOU
Challenging tasks in a dynamic environment where Sweden's economic development is in focus. You will become the head of a unit responsible for producing forecasts and materials for the executive board's monetary policy decisions, as well as explaining and justifying monetary policy in Sweden. This requires both structural and cyclical analysis of the Swedish economy. The unit also coordinates the department's international work. Our analytical environment is rapidly evolving, giving you the opportunity to develop methods and tools for cutting-edge forecasting work together with your colleagues.
WHAT YOU WILL DO WITH US
You will play an important role in developing, driving, and coordinating the work within the unit and the department. As the unit manager, your responsibilities include staffing, following up, and initiating work on in-depth analysis of the Swedish economy, international work, and forecasting and modeling. You will also work continuously with operational planning and staff development. Together with others, you will drive ongoing development work in the department. You will have personnel responsibility, represent the department in collaboration with other parts of the Riksbank, and have an active role in the department's management team. The tasks also involve contact with international organizations, such as the ECB and BIS.
YOUR TEAM
The forecasting and macroanalysis unit in the monetary policy department currently consists of about 20 qualified employees. The unit is responsible for large parts of the forecasts and analyses that underlie the interest rate decisions made by the executive board eight times a year. The process leading up to a monetary policy decision is led by a team outside the unit, but employees from the unit participate. Both economic models rooted in modern economic theory and statistical models with good forecasting properties are used to support the forecasting and analysis work. Maintenance and development of these models is an important part of the unit's responsibilities. In addition to working with colleagues in the unit, you will collaborate across departments within the Riksbank and maintain ongoing contact with other departments and international organizations.
MORE ABOUT YOU
You are someone with experience in change management who curiously explores opportunities to help your employees grow and develop. You create and maintain a work environment where curiosity, creativity, and analytical thinking are driving forces in daily work. You build and promote strong collaboration both within your team and between other departments. You have at least two years of experience leading others, as a manager or project leader, and are good at preparing, anchoring, and implementing decisions. If you have served on a management team and thus had responsibility for a larger part of the operation than just your own area, that is an advantage. You have an academic degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, or related fields, and you have several years of experience in forecasting or macroeconomic analysis. A doctoral degree is an advantage. Experience in the public sector and collaboration with international organizations is also a plus. We believe you are genuinely interested in leadership issues and in developing your own leadership. You have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both written and spoken. As a person, you are strategic, communicative, and proactive. You are also analytical, have good judgment, and are good at collaborating. We place great importance on your personal qualities.
