Unit Manager in Addiction Care

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. With us at SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. No matter where in our organization you work or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.

At the head office in Solna Business Park, we are about 350 employees, and together we work to support and develop the authority with approximately 4000 employees.

Job Description

SiS is in the midst of a comprehensive transformation where the operations are developing on several levels simultaneously. We are developing and adapting our work based on new and changing needs in both society and our own operations. We know that developing and engaged managers are a crucial prerequisite for meeting today’s and tomorrow’s assignments.

The section for operational support in addiction care is tasked with coordinating operational issues within addiction care. As a unit manager, you are responsible for leading and developing the work within the care and treatment area. This includes, among other things, investigations of Lex Sarah, support and coordination of implementation work, and coordination of management networks. You collaborate strategically with colleagues within the section to create a coherent whole between planning, governance, follow-up, and content of operations.

As a unit manager, you will ensure quality and service in operational support for addiction care. You plan, follow up, and refine the work so that you meet the set goals. You are responsible for your employees' work and ensuring that they have the competence and conditions required to perform their tasks in a good and safe working environment.

You have operational, personnel, and budget responsibility for the unit's employees, which consist of operational developers and career counselors. You report to the section manager, who is part of the department's management group.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree in sociology, behavioral science, social work, or another relevant education.
  • Current managerial experience with operational, budget, and personnel responsibility.
  • Good experience working with people with harmful use and dependence, as well as care and treatment issues.
  • Good ability to express oneself well, both verbally and in writing, in Swedish.

It is an advantage if you also have:

  • Experience of both strategic and operational work within care and treatment.
  • Experience of working at SiS or with one of our collaborating partners, such as social services, psychiatry, or similar.
  • Knowledge of, and preferably experience with, methods and approaches developed for individuals with comorbidity issues.

To fit into the role, we see that you take responsibility for the whole and realize SiS's vision and goals. You create conditions for good results and tackle challenges, acting with courage when needed. You are a good role model and show trust in your employees' and colleagues' competence, encouraging them to develop and take responsibility. You involve your employees in our development work and create conditions for active employee participation and a learning organization. You promote good collaboration within SiS and with other partners. You are communicative and create dialogue, participation, and engagement.

At SiS, we care about good leadership. This means that you, as a manager and leader, take responsibility for the whole, act as a good role model, drive development, promote good collaboration, and are clear in your communication. Please read more about our leadership!

We place great importance on your personal qualities!
