As the head of the totality at the Ministry of Finance's budget department, your mission is to lead, develop, and organize the operations. The totality has a comprehensive responsibility for compiling the state budget and continuously works with analyses and follow-ups of forecasts and outcomes. The unit is also responsible for the development and follow-up of the budget process and economic governance of state operations. The unit also conducts analyses and produces materials aimed at increasing efficiency in the public administration and reassessing state commitments. The unit provides support to other employees in the department as needed. The unit's operations are characterized by a sometimes high pace, high demands for quality, a strong team spirit, and a dynamic environment. The unit has about 17 employees. The budget department consists of a total of seven units. As a manager, you are expected to be familiar with your employees' tasks and serve as a support and sounding board in their work.

You will represent the unit in various contexts and act as a representative, leader, and employer to create conditions for sound public finances. The assignment also includes assisting in leading and developing the department by being part of the budget department's management team.

Your Background and Competence

We are looking for someone with relevant academic education for the tasks. You have current and relevant experience in leading others, such as a manager, coordinator, or project leader. Additionally, you have experience working with the budget process at the Government Offices and are accustomed to representing operations in various contexts. You understand the demands of working in a politically governed organization. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of the Swedish economy, socio-economic conditions, and the fiscal policy framework. You have good language skills in Swedish and English.

Experience working at the Ministry of Finance and with the unit's issues is an advantage. If you have managerial experience with personnel responsibility, that is also advantageous.

As a manager, you have a holistic view and communicate overarching goals, involve others early, and promote collaboration for unified leadership. You drive the development of operations and work environment, lead change with courage, and encourage learning and initiatives for development while also developing your own competence and leadership. You focus on results by prioritizing, making decisions, and showing trust in employees' competence by supporting and coaching them while addressing problems in a timely manner.

The work is characterized by a high pace, complex issues, and high demands for quality. To succeed in the role, you need to be able to prioritize, see new solutions, and have a good capacity to understand and address new and sometimes complex issues. The work also requires integrity and good judgment, as well as the ability to create contact and a very good ability to collaborate. We place great importance on personal qualities.

Other

The employment is a permanent position with a fixed-term appointment as unit manager. The position is placed in a security class, and a security review with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. You must be a Swedish citizen.
