Your assignment
The unit is located at the office of the chief legal officer. The chief legal officer reports directly to the agency's director general and has overall responsibility for ensuring that the agency's operations are conducted in accordance with the law and other regulations. The chief legal officer will also work to ensure that the agency has appropriate legislative support and is responsible for the legal support to the agency. The chief legal officer is supported in this task by the deputy chief legal officer and two legal units, where the agency’s lawyers are placed. The staff of the legal units consists of both administrative law lawyers and qualified lawyers with assessor backgrounds. One legal unit supports the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC).
The other legal unit supports FRA's other operations. As the unit manager for this legal unit, you will lead the work at the unit. You have personnel and work management responsibility for about ten lawyers, as well as budget and operational responsibility. An important part of the job is to motivate employees and create an inclusive environment characterized by engagement and collaboration. You also have personal responsibility for certain legal tasks and can step in for the chief legal officer when needed. In your daily work, you have many contacts both internally within the agency and externally with the Government Offices and other authorities. Travel may occur in the position.
You can
You have a Bachelor of Laws or a Master of Laws and are a court of appeal or administrative court assessor or have several years of experience in equivalent qualified legal work at a court, the Government Offices, or another authority. You are a highly skilled lawyer with experience in dealing with complex legal issues. You also have experience in leading others. You have very good knowledge of public administration and the legislative process. You have an excellent ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. You also have good knowledge of English.
It is an advantage if you have management experience. Experience working in the Government Offices, in defense or security areas, and/or with privacy protection issues is also advantageous.

You have a good ability to communicate clearly. As a person, you are stable and have an easy time creating, maintaining, and developing relationships.

The workplace is located near Drottningholm, about 10 minutes from Brommaplan. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA involves placement in a security class. Before employment, you will be security vetted in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act. Employment comes with an obligation to be placed in wartime.
