Head of the Analysis Unit
Do you have experience leading others in a complex organization and possess good knowledge of availability and operational analyses? We are now looking for a head of the analysis unit, which is part of the department for direction and analysis within FMV's operational area for aviation and space material. This position offers an opportunity to lead a smaller organization that works on analyzing needs within the operation of various military aviation and space systems. Your work is significant at every step, and you will be able to use your expertise where it truly makes a difference.
About the position
As the head of the unit, you will lead a knowledge-intensive team consisting of five employees and several consultants, where you create engagement, participation, and motivation through clear and value-driven leadership. You will have overall responsibility for operations, personnel, and resources, and work towards set goals within the operational area in accordance with applicable regulations and guidelines. As a manager, you provide support and conditions for your employees while leading the development of working methods and competencies to drive the organization forward in a strategic and sustainable manner.
Through your leadership, you actively contribute to shaping the future supply and operational solutions. You collaborate with other units within the operational area and the Armed Forces' staff. You also actively contribute to the development of both the department and the operational area.
As a manager, you represent FMV's vision, goals, and values. You have operational responsibility, employer responsibility, and financial responsibility, and you are your employees' most important communication channel.
The position is based in Stockholm. Business travel may occur.
About you
We are looking for someone with a relevant academic education or equivalent competence acquired in another way that we assess as equivalent. You have current and relevant experience in a supervisory role and have worked with complex operations regarding logic, coordination, and planning. To succeed, knowledge of availability and operational analyses is required. The position requires good knowledge of both Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
It is advantageous if you have current and relevant experience as a manager. You should have completed training in management/leadership or have experience leading others in an engineering-heavy organization. Likewise, if you have worked with systems engineering (SE), sustainable maintenance solutions (ILS), or quality work. If you have current and relevant experience with aviation systems and knowledge of aviation system development or regulations for aviation products, that is a plus. Desirable but not required is experience with FMV's working methods or aviation systems in the Armed Forces.
Personal qualities are of great importance to us, and we welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences. As a manager with us, you lead the organization with clear direction and determination. You ensure that both short-term and long-term goals are achieved through structured work, accountability, and anchoring with employees. You build trusting relationships and promote an inclusive, respectful work environment where engagement, community, and diversity are at the center. With stability, courage, and integrity, you take responsibility for decisions and actions, lead with a focus on values, and act confidently even in challenging situations. Through a strategic holistic view, you prioritize and coordinate resources, drive improvements, and strengthen the authority's long-term development and trust.
