On behalf of the government, the National Property Board of Sweden (SFV) manages our common natural and cultural heritage. We manage a variety of state-owned properties – including government buildings, courts, castles and royal estates, theaters, museums, embassies, as well as one-seventh of the country's area consisting of forests and land.
As employees, we take pride in being employed by an authority, working based on the state value foundation, and contributing to positive societal development.
The position is located within SFV Mark Syd, where you as a manager are responsible for land areas south of the Dalälven River. The unit currently consists of 12 employees, with offices in both Stockholm and Uppsala.
We are now looking for someone who wants to contribute to sustainable forestry, enjoys varied tasks, and wants to be part of an engaged team.
Your role
As a forest manager, you are responsible for both the tactical and operational planning of forestry within the property area of SFV Mark Syd. The work includes field planning, assessment, and inventory. You also procure contractors and work with maintenance and planning of roads. The role also includes handling matters related to SFV's responsibilities as a landowner and manager. You have overall responsibility for a number of properties and ensure that planned measures are implemented, followed up, and documented.
The work varies throughout the year. During the season, you work a lot in the field, while other periods involve more office work with planning, administrative handling, and coordination.
You collaborate with colleagues in other parts of SFV and have ongoing contact with authorities, contractors, as well as hunting, fishing, and agricultural tenants and the public.
The position involves travel within a larger geographical area, and you therefore need to enjoy being in forests and land year-round. Placement will be at the SFV Mark Syd office in Stockholm or as agreed.
Your profile
We are looking for someone who has:
- Post-secondary forestry education, such as a forest engineer, forest manager, or other equivalent competence in forestry or land management
- Experience from a similar role within the forestry sector
- Experience working with forest management
- Driving license B
Meritorious:
- Experience working with GIS systems
- Broad experience from various areas within forestry, such as forest management, forest field planning, and timber trading
Personal qualities
We place great importance on your personal qualities. As a person, you are structured, collaborative, confident, and solution-oriented. You are orderly and skilled at documenting and expressing yourself in speech and writing. You are comfortable working independently and take responsibility for your tasks, while also being willing to share experiences and collaborate with the team.
How to apply for the position
To apply for the position, we ask you to attach your CV and answer a number of selection questions based on the requirements profile. In the first selection, we will only consider your CV and your answers to the questions. We wish for you to respond concretely and succinctly, and that there is a clear connection between your answers and your CV.
If you have protected personal information, we ask you to call the recruiting manager for information on how to submit your application.
