The Criminal Statistics Unit is responsible for producing and developing most of the register-based official statistics in the field of the judicial system in Sweden. This places high demands on the unit's core mission. The development of statistics depends on information reported from judicial authorities, and participation in the joint governmental work on the digitalization of the judicial system is therefore central.

As the unit manager, you will represent Brå in the tactical management group for the work, which supports the strategic council and consists of the general directors or their representatives from the participating authorities.

The unit is part of an operational area that includes both of the agency's statistical units and the IT unit. The responsibility for the agency's digitalization work also lies within the operational area. Since 2024, the operational area has been driving a comprehensive business development effort aimed at increasing the timeliness and relevance of statistics for the primary target groups. The unit manager participates in the management group of the operational area and reports to the head of the operational area. The unit manager needs to be able to translate the needs of the whole into the operations of their own unit by concretizing efforts that meet the strategic goals.

  • is a generalist with high competence in statistical production and has experience in digitalization and IT development
  • has a very good ability to express themselves well in both spoken and written Swedish and has knowledge of English, both spoken and written.

Knowledge of the Government Offices and its decision-making processes, as well as work experience from any of the 11 RD authorities, is an advantage. It is also advantageous if you have completed some form of management training.

The job may involve placement in a security class

Therefore, you need to be a Swedish citizen.

Your personal qualities

As a manager, you are a good communicator and are used to presenting both oral and written information pedagogically in meetings or other forums to various target groups, both internally and externally. As a manager, you also need to have very good judgment and excellent collaboration skills. You are a trustworthy leader who coaches your employees with a positive and solution-oriented attitude. Furthermore, you are strategic, persistent, and have an unpretentious approach. Great importance is placed on your personal qualities and abilities.
