As a unit manager, you are responsible for delivering effective operational processes, internal business development, and project management, as well as overseeing and auditing IT security within the IT function's areas of responsibility. Here you have the opportunity to use your expertise where it makes a real difference while contributing to the organization's capacity during a time of historic growth.
About the position
As a unit manager, you have overall responsibility for leading, directing, and developing the unit for IT Business Support and IT Security. The role involves strategic and tactical planning, and you have full operational, employer, and financial responsibility. You work naturally in accordance with applicable regulations and guidelines within your areas of responsibility and create conditions for employees to succeed, develop, and thrive in their work.
You are part of the management team for IT Operations and Infrastructure and report to the head of the department. Together with other unit managers, you contribute to creating stability and driving development through common routines, working methods, and a forward-looking change culture. An important part of the assignment is to help drive the IT Transformation Journey, which is a major shift for the entire IT function within three transformation areas focusing on technology, culture, and working methods.
You provide support within operational processes, internal business development, and project management, and are responsible for the control and auditing of IT security. If necessary, you support procurement and contract follow-up and represent the organization both internally and externally.
As a manager, you represent FMV's vision, goals, and values. You have operational responsibility, employer responsibility, and financial responsibility, and you are your employees' most important communication channel.
The position is located in Stockholm.
About you
We are looking for someone with a degree in computer science or education/competence acquired in another way that FMV deems necessary for the position. You have several years of current and documented experience in a managerial role with operational, personnel, and financial responsibility in an IT organization. To succeed in the role, it is essential that you have several years of documented experience in development work with associated change management, and you also have experience working in a management team. The position requires knowledge of ITIL Foundation, at least v3 but preferably v4. You also have knowledge of information security work and governance, preferably according to PM3. You have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
It is advantageous if you have several years of experience in both outsourced IT operations and infrastructure as well as in-house. We prefer candidates with experience working within government and/or public administration. If you have previous experience in IT security and regulatory requirements and standards such as NIS2 or ISO 27001, we see this as a benefit. We view positively if you have experience within the Armed Forces' requirements for security functions (KSF) and also if you have experience in procurements according to LOU/LUFS.
Personal qualities are of great importance to us, and we welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences. As a manager with us, you lead the organization with clear direction and determination. You ensure that both short-term and long-term goals are achieved through structured work, accountability, and anchoring with employees. You build trusting relationships and promote an inclusive, respectful work environment where engagement, community, and diversity are at the center. With stability, courage, and integrity, you take responsibility for decisions and actions, lead with a focus on values, and act confidently even in challenging situations.
