Unit Manager for Strategic Local Supply

Job Description

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care is now seeking an experienced unit manager for the unit of strategic local supply within the property department.

The property department is tasked with providing suitable, cost-effective, safe, and secure premises. SiS has a need for premises for accommodation, educational activities, sports and leisure activities, and administration. Currently, we operate in about 220,000 square meters of leased premises. The age, standard, and suitability of the premises vary, and many buildings are not adapted to today’s operations. To best meet the operational needs for suitable premises, we work simultaneously with both new construction, renovation, and decommissioning of older buildings.

The unit for strategic local supply is newly established and is responsible for the authority's long-term and strategic work with local supply as well as coordination, processing, and support for the entire department regarding matters and decisions. The unit is also responsible for the authority's strategic work within fire protection. As a unit manager, you have operational, personnel, and budget responsibility for the unit's nine employees. You report to the head of the section for strategic local supply.

We see that you are an experienced manager and leader with many years of experience in the real estate industry. You will contribute to the development of future environments for youth and substance abuse care and have solid knowledge in property development, including property economics and property law. Through your leadership, you create the best conditions for your employees and colleagues. You plan, follow up, and refine the work in the unit so that you achieve set goals. You are responsible for ensuring that your employees have the competence and conditions required to carry out their tasks in a good and safe working environment.

The property department consists of three sections with assignments in strategic local supply, property projects, and management and service. The property department is under development and will grow from 25 to about 40 employees during the year.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Academic degree in the field or other relevant education
• Current leadership experience with operational, budget, and personnel responsibility with documented good leadership qualities
• Many years of experience in the real estate industry
• Comprehensive knowledge of property law and property economics
• Good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish.
• Very good knowledge of the Office suite

Meritorious:

• Experience of working in public operations
• Experience of LOU
• Experience of responsibility for local supply
