This is your mission
In the role of Unit Manager for Enterprise IT, you are responsible for leading, developing, and ensuring the delivery of several important administrative systems and the digital workplace. You lead through other leaders, and together with your management team, you are responsible for everything from stable support to long-term system management and system development.
At the Swedish Security Service, we place high demands on our ability to build, manage, and secure our solutions. Within the operational area, you ensure that employees have the right tools for collaboration and work performance while maintaining the highest possible level of security and data sovereignty.
An important part of your work involves creating clarity, engagement, and common direction in a technically complex environment. You are responsible for leading and developing the unit's management team, driving change initiatives, and creating conditions for effective and well-functioning collaboration.
You are responsible for budget and investment planning and ensure a robust and secure digital workplace that meets the operational needs without compromising IT security. Furthermore, you lead efforts to streamline support flows.
Your placement is at the headquarters in Solna. The work is performed on-site, which means that you do not have the opportunity to work remotely. Travel within and outside Sweden may occur.
The qualifications we seek from you
Only those who meet the following requirements can be considered for the position.
- Academic education in IT, systems science, other related education, or work experience deemed equivalent by the Swedish Security Service
- Several years of experience as a manager with personnel, budget, and operational responsibility
- Several years of experience in leading and developing managers
- Several years of experience in the development and management of mission-critical systems, such as ERP, payroll, or similar
- Experience in driving change initiatives and transformations within IT
- Experience working in a scaled agile environment, such as SAFe or Scrum
- Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
The employment requires Swedish citizenship.
You who apply may also have competencies that add breadth and complementary perspectives. If you can contribute with one or more of the following, it is meritorious:
- Understanding of IT security and information security classification
- Experience working in security-sensitive operations such as defense, government, or banking/finance
- Knowledge of laws and regulations governing information management such as the Security Protection Act or GDPR

As a person, you are confident, have good judgment, and the ability to weigh the operational need for efficiency against the demands for security and stability. You are a clear communicator who can explain why certain technical choices are necessary and how we can still deliver modern working methods. Through structured and attentive leadership, you create teams that take pride in their technical competence and the value they deliver.
The Swedish Security Service places high demands on security and confidentiality, therefore we expect you to have a high security awareness.
Employment conditions and benefits
Employment at the Swedish Security Service involves placement in a security class that requires Swedish citizenship. Employment also requires a satisfactory result in the security screening with background check, conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act.
This is a permanent position that begins with a six-month probationary period. We apply individual salary setting. Employment comes with an obligation to be placed in a war situation.
