We are in challenging times, and to meet this, we have created a completely new department, the Governance and Coordination Department. Here, we have chosen to gather important strategic functions in a way that allows us to work more uniformly, efficiently, and with even greater benefit for the entire municipality. We are now looking for someone who wants to lead the department and become our new Coordination Director!

RESPONSIBILITIES

In our new department, we are now gathering several functions that have previously been scattered throughout the organization but have strong touchpoints. By working closer together, we see great opportunities to create synergies. The department will consist of: Procurement Unit, Secretariat Unit, Investigation and Legal (Municipal Lawyers and Investigators), Business Development, and Safety and Security Unit.

A consolidated responsibility also provides improved conditions for quality development and follow-up in close collaboration with the Finance Department and other departments in the municipal executive office, and to a large extent in close cooperation with the administrations.

The department consists of a total of 35 employees, and as the Coordination Director, you will be an important part of both the management group of the municipal executive office and the municipality's overall management group. Your immediate supervisor will be the Municipal Director.

As the Coordination Director, in addition to the responsibility for the units and employees that are part of the department, you will also be tasked with developing and coordinating municipal-wide governance and follow-up processes that are not already covered by financial management. This lays the foundation for long-term development, increased transparency, and efficient resource utilization throughout the municipal group. You will regularly meet both the political majority leadership and the municipal council. When the Municipal Director is absent, you are one of the directors who may step in for them.

The goal is for you as the new leader to be in place by June 1, 2026, when the organizational change also takes effect.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with:

  • Academic degree, preferably in law
  • Broad experience in leadership positions at a municipal-wide level or in another politically governed organization, preferably with several employers
  • Very good knowledge of and experience with how a politically governed organization and its decision-making processes work
  • Very good oral and written proficiency in the Swedish language

You are curious and open to thinking outside the box, and you enjoy trying alternative working methods and learning from others. In collaborations, you are unpretentious and gladly contribute ideas while appreciating discussing thoughts in both smaller and larger groups.

You have a good ability to make decisions and are well aware that wise decisions often require dialogue and participation. You work in a structured and analytical manner, with the ability to distinguish between what is significant and what is minor, while also seeing when details are crucial to the whole.
