Business Analyst at Vinnova

Role Description

As a Business Analyst, you will be part of the Data-Driven Development unit within the Department of Business Development and Support, which also includes Process Development and Evaluation, HR, IT, and Finance. Data-driven development is a prioritized area for Vinnova, and we now need to expand the team. Here you will collaborate with engaged colleagues in system development, data management, information governance, AI, and data analysis. You will also work closely with the business, developers, and external actors. As a link between business and technology, you will translate complex needs into structured information models and sustainable data flows.

In this role, you will work both operationally and strategically with data sharing and business-related data development. You will contribute to strengthening decision support, developing a data-driven working method, and enabling effective collaboration with other authorities.

Your main tasks:

  • Analyze operational data related to our missions and initiatives, and identify needs for structuring and development.
  • Translate business requirements into concept, information, and data models.
  • Document concepts, relationships, and connections to processes and regulations.
  • Lead and participate in the development of data sharing in standardized and interoperable formats, in collaboration with other authorities.
  • Contribute to API specifications and structured metadata.
  • Ensure that data flows and models support transparency, legal security, and efficiency.
  • Communicate our work with data governance and data-driven development internally and externally.

Qualifications

Education

University degree in technology, economics, statistics, or another area that can be deemed equivalent.

Work experience

  • At least five years of experience working with operational data within a government agency or other public sector.
  • Experience in analyzing, structuring, and modeling data related to business processes.
  • Experience in documenting concepts, information models, or data models.
  • Experience working in collaboration between business and IT/development.

Knowledge

  • Good understanding of government agencies' missions, governance, and regulations, including public access and confidentiality.
  • Ability to translate business needs into structured information or data models.
  • Good knowledge of data analysis tools such as Power BI, Qlik Sense, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of information architecture, metadata management, or interoperability.
  • Good knowledge of databases, SQL, and APIs.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft 365.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Meritorious

  • Experience in research funding or grant-giving activities.
  • Experience in data sharing between authorities.
  • Experience working with standardized data formats and API specifications.

Location

We apply hybrid work, where our employees have the opportunity to combine working from home and in the office. At least half of the working time should be spent in our activity-based office at Mäster Samuelsgatan 56, which is a few minutes' walk from Stockholm Central Station.

Employment form

The position is a permanent employment, and we apply a six-month probationary period.
