Job Responsibilities

As an exam invigilator, you will be responsible for the entire execution of the exam in the hall, which includes attendance control, admission, maintaining order, supervising students throughout the exam period, and finally collecting the exam papers at the end of the exam.

You need to be attentive and keep accurate notes if any irregularities occur, as well as handle certain administrative tasks. Unexpected situations may arise that require you to be stress-resistant and have a good sense of service. Additionally, the invigilator provides brief instructions to groups of students in both Swedish and English.

It is important to be well-informed and clearly communicate the rules that apply during an exam. KTH provides an invigilator introduction training in connection with recruitment, which is mandatory for all newly hired invigilators. The job as an exam invigilator also requires certain physical efforts, such as fetching and returning materials between different parts of the campus, arranging tables and chairs, and some halls have theater seating with level differences. Campus Valhallavägen is large, and the distances are long between the exam material distribution point and the exam rooms.

KTH's academic year is divided into four study periods of seven weeks, followed by a one-week exam period, in addition to four resit periods spread throughout the academic year. KTH's exam invigilators primarily work during the exam periods and occasionally during control exams during the study periods. Exam sessions take place during weekdays but may also occur in the evenings and on weekends. Exams are held in various locations at Campus Valhallavägen and at Albanova. Exams can be both written and digital.

Examining students is a very important task, and the quality of the examination is of utmost importance for the credibility of the grades and degrees issued by KTH. As an exam invigilator, you also represent KTH as an employer at each exam session.

About the Department/Group

The Examination Administration is a function within the Student Services unit at KTH. The Examination Administration coordinates the process of conducting exams at KTH in a legally secure manner. Within this process, exam invigilators are an extremely important part.

Qualifications

Requirements

• To work as an exam invigilator, you need to have very good knowledge of both Swedish and English, as this is required in daily work.
• You need to be structured and meticulous.
• Have good collaboration skills, be stress-resistant, and able to handle unexpected situations.
• You need to have a good sense of service and be comfortable speaking in front of larger groups.
• You need to have digital skills and access to a digital tool (mobile phone or computer) as KTH uses a digital booking system for scheduling exam invigilators and shifts.
• Be available for an interview on March 20 and the training session on March 30.

Meritorious

It is advantageous if you have prior experience working as an exam invigilator at another university or college, at the higher education test, or at a high school.

Application

You apply via KTH's recruitment system. As an applicant, you have the primary responsibility for ensuring that your application is complete when submitted. Selection Process

We will review all applications and then invite the candidates who best match the requirements profile to a group interview. Group interviews will take place on March 20. Candidates who are offered employment will be invited to our mandatory training for exam invigilators on March 30. A separate invitation to the training will be sent to those who proceed after the group interview. The training will be held on-site at KTH's campus in Östermalm and must be completed before you can start working as an exam invigilator.

About the Employment

As an exam invigilator at KTH, you have a so-called intermittent employment. This means that you are employed for each individual occasion and receive financial compensation per hour. The number of job opportunities offered varies and depends on need. This means that you will be offered occasional, short-term employment opportunities as needed.

Please note that you cannot work as an exam invigilator if you are a student at KTH.
