Job Advertisement: Coordinator in Civil Defense

The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency works to increase Sweden's preparedness and resilience in a time of rapidly changing security challenges. We develop and coordinate civil defense and create conditions for society's most important functions to operate even during serious crises and wars.

Your Responsibilities and Tasks

We are now looking for a colleague who wants to drive and coordinate the work in our joint management forums. In this role, you will help create structure, continuity, and progress in the collaborative efforts among the preparedness authorities to develop capabilities in civil defense.

Your tasks include:

• planning, preparing, and conducting meetings at the agency director level
• following up and managing results, ensuring that decisions and directions are implemented both internally and externally
• maintaining the continuity of the collaborative work throughout the year
• contributing to identifying cross-sectoral challenges and opportunities
• supporting dialogue and collaboration among actors within the preparedness system

The role involves many contacts both within the agency and with other stakeholders. You will be an important part of a teamwork that drives the development of a stronger civil defense.

Your Knowledge and Competencies

We are looking for someone who has:

• a relevant academic education for the position
• experience working within the Swedish preparedness system, for example from a government agency, region, municipality, or another actor in crisis preparedness or civil defense
• the ability to build trustful relationships and thrive in a fast-paced environment with varied issues

It is an advantage if you have:

• experience working in a government agency
• experience working in a staff role or in collaborative structures
• experience with issues related to civil defense and total defense
• experience in planning and conducting meetings or collaborative forums
• experience in operational support communication or change management
• knowledge of group or process development

About the Employment

We offer you a permanent full-time position that begins with a probationary period.

Your workplace will be Karlstad or Stockholm, and travel may be required in the position.

The majority of our positions involve placement in a security class. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required. When placed in a security class, a security screening with background check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Most employees at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency are assigned to wartime positions.
