Committee Secretary for the Cultural Administration
Do you want to be part of the important work of the cultural administration regarding committee administration and enjoy having order and structure? Then you might be our new colleague. The Cultural Administration is now looking for a committee secretary at 50%.
The role of committee secretary involves a wide variety of tasks. It is an interesting and exciting role, and you will be a key person in the administration's handling of matters for the committee.
Within the cultural administration, about 20 employees work in the operations of Kristinehamn's library, Kristinehamn's art museum, Kristinehamn's historical museum and image archive, and public culture.
In Kristinehamn, there is a good business climate, a rich cultural and leisure life, as well as access to beautiful archipelago and nature.
The workplace is located at the municipal building Uroxen, but in the spring of 2026, the workplace will move to new premises in central Kristinehamn, a ten-minute walk from the travel center. There is an opportunity for remote work, and the position also includes several other benefits such as wellness grants, benefit bicycles, and vacation exchange.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a committee secretary in the cultural committee, you will have a central role in the democratic work and contribute to creating structure and clarity in the decision-making processes.
Your main tasks will be to serve as the recording secretary at the committee's various meetings, including being responsible for the committee's calendar and case preparation before meetings. You will coordinate, develop, and ensure the quality of both the materials and the case process. You will work closely with and support both politics and administration.
You will participate in the daily administrative work, which may include record-keeping, ensuring that documents and cases are recorded correctly. You will also be responsible for updating the committee's delegation order and serve as support in the delegated decision-making authority. The role also includes writing service statements, administering fees for committee members, monitoring the common municipal committee management issues, and participating in the municipality's network for committee secretaries. The administration currently uses the Lex data system for case management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in political science or another education that can be assessed as equivalent.
- Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, as the work involves a large part of written and oral tasks.
- Very good computer skills and good knowledge of the Office package are required.
- Experience in committee administration in public operations is an advantage.

We are looking for someone who is an engaged and responsible person with good collaboration skills and a service-oriented approach. You work in a structured and meticulous manner, have a good ability to plan and prioritize, and create order even in complex processes.
You are stable and secure in your role, with the ability to handle different situations calmly and professionally. At the same time, you are development-oriented and curious, with a desire to contribute to improvements and efficiency in work methods and routines.
As a committee secretary, you are self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks, while being clear in your communication and creating good conditions for collaboration with politicians, managers, and colleagues. You are flexible and easily adapt to changing conditions and new needs in the operation.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
