The County Administrative Board is an important coordinating link in the interface between the state, region, municipality, business, and individuals. The County Administrative Board works to ensure that national goals are implemented in the county while taking into account regional conditions and prerequisites. This includes balancing pressing societal interests and resolving goal conflicts. The County Administrative Board has a broad and multifaceted mission regarding both tasks and subject areas. The agency's main tasks include permit assessment, supervision, knowledge dissemination, and coordination within many societal areas. Approximately 230 people work with us, and our head is the Governor.

Description

The position of qualified accountant is located at the Economic Unit, which is part of the Operational Support Department at the County Administrative Board of Värmland.

Operational Support also includes Information Management and HR, Communication, and Internal Services. The Economic Unit works with financial processes such as accounting, annual reports, and procurement.

Responsibilities

In the role of qualified accountant, you will work with complex accounting and have shared responsibility for monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing. You will participate in the preparation of annual reports and financial statements. As a qualified accountant, you have solid accounting expertise and ensure that the closing and reporting meet high quality standards according to applicable laws, regulations, and recommendations for the state.

The role involves contact with auditors, external reviewers, and authorities, as well as providing advice, guidance, and support to colleagues on accounting issues.

You will also play an active role in development projects, including the implementation or change of financial systems and the streamlining and quality assurance of financial processes.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Post-secondary education in economics/accounting
• Several years of experience in qualified accounting work, preferably in the public sector
• Very good knowledge and practical experience in closing, annual reports, and accounting regulations
• Very good system proficiency and advanced knowledge of Excel
• Excellent command of Swedish, both spoken and written
• Experience in change or development projects, such as changing financial systems (meritorious)

The role involves many points of contact, which places high demands on your communication and pedagogical skills, as well as your ability to collaborate with different parties.
