About us

Råsunda School is a F-6 school with approximately 600 students. The school is located near Solna center with good communication options. The vision for the school is that every person at Råsunda School should find their place. The school has a well-developed student health work and a well-functioning and prioritized organization for special support. We strive to see each student as an individual and collaborate around the students in grade-based working teams. In our shared values regarding the students, we believe that a student wants to succeed if they can, that equality is not always fairness, but above all that every student is the right student.

In our school development, we focus on differentiation and a formative approach in our teaching, and we believe that collaboration is the key to both collegial teaching and an improved working situation for our educators. The school also has an ongoing development project, IBIS (inclusive behavioral support in schools), in collaboration with Uppsala University.

What does the job entail?

The role includes planning, implementing, following up, and developing creative, varied, and meaningful teaching in the after-school program in accordance with the new curriculum Lgr22. This is done together with other staff in our after-school programs. We work in grade-based teams and apply differentiated teaching. You will also collaborate with teachers and be part of the school instruction where you will work with the value foundation and the school's democratic mission. Work in small groups and individually with students may occur.

You will be part of a team that will shape and develop the activities and lay a good foundation for children's development. School development in Solna includes language-developing methods, digitization, value foundation, and adaptation of the learning environment. An important part of the work is to develop the social climate so that all students feel good and thrive in the group.

Through research-based and experience-based teaching, you will help create developing and pedagogically aware learning environments and activities. Right now, Solna municipality has a strong focus on recess activities, which will be one of your major tasks in grades F-6 during school hours, as well as developing our after-school program in grades F-6. You will also actively work on developing the pedagogical work.

As a teacher in after-school programs/after-school educator in Solna municipality, you will have the opportunity to grow alongside engaged educators who have high expectations for students' ability to develop and learn.

We create an organization to ensure you can succeed in your role as a teacher in after-school programs/after-school educator in Solna. For your professional development, you will participate in networks for after-school program teachers/after-school educators and in other training. In addition, Solna municipality is developing a staff development program for employees in Solna municipality.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who:

• is a licensed teacher in after-school programs or has a degree as an after-school educator
• has experience working in after-school programs
• has experience working with children aged 6-9 years
• is well-versed in all parts of the curriculum and other relevant governing documents
• is familiar with digital tools that you use creatively in teaching as well as for your own planning, follow-up, and documentation
• master the Swedish language well in both spoken and written form
• is well acquainted with and adheres to the ethical principles for teachers and has the ability to promote democratic values and assumes that all students are equally valuable.

You will be jointly responsible for the development of the school's recess activities and the after-school program in grades F-6, so it is desirable that you have a teaching license related to movement and communication. Your leadership is based on the belief that all children can and want to develop. Your teaching is based on scientific principles and proven experience that enables you to create good learning environments. As a person, you are attentive to students' needs, clear, respectful, and have a great ability to collaborate with students, guardians, and colleagues. You plan, organize, and prioritize effectively and ensure that all processes are completed with good quality. You take responsibility for your tasks and can easily adapt to changing circumstances, remaining calm, stable, and structured.

The position is permanent at 100% with immediate start or by agreement. The position is a holiday position with working hours on a so-called rolling work schedule where both opening and closing of our after-school program are included in your tasks.
