Ersta protected accommodations are part of Ersta diakoni and are Sweden's largest non-profit actor in health and social care with a clear value base – to see the whole person.
Ersta Fristad is a protected accommodation for women affected by violence, with or without accompanying children. The accommodation is located at a secret address and all work is carried out based on assignments from the social services. Ersta Fristad also offers a children's program for the children living with us.
The children's program is open on weekdays from 9 AM to 4 PM and offers all children living with us an opportunity for normalization, activation, and stimulation.
The children's program has its own premises and two educators employed to run the program. There is a responsible person for the educational content who professionally ensures the children's needs and development. The children's program is important for the children to find security again and to allow them to be children. Daily activities are adapted based on the children's ages as we receive children from 0-17 years old.
We are located in Stockholm County, but we accept women with or without accompanying children from all over the country. We welcome and respect all religions.
About the role
Working as a substitute means that you, together with the educator, contribute to ensuring that the children have safe, fun, and meaningful days. As an educator with us, we want you to see how different children learn in different ways and have the ability to help the children learn in all everyday situations and stimulate development through play and imagination.
You should have a commitment to your assignment with a clear and active focus on the children. You also need to have a good ability to create relationships and the ability to make quick contacts in a humble manner. You should be able to give the mothers the trust they need to hand over their children to other adults during a time that can be filled with uncertainty.
You will meet children with different needs and vulnerabilities and therefore need to be able to work flexibly and with warmth and patience. We carry out many activities with the children such as excursions, cinema visits, and outdoor activities.
With us, you will work in an environment where every day makes a difference – and where your approach, responsiveness, and professionalism are crucial. You will be part of a team of two in the children's program under the leadership of a group leader and program manager. Additionally, you will be part of the working group for all staff at Ersta Fristad, which consists of various professional categories such as social workers and treatment assistants.
Who are you?
We are looking for a secure, warm, and committed employee who wants to help create a stable and caring everyday life for children and young people who have had a tough start in life.
We are looking for someone who is attentive and can see the individual needs of the children. You build relationships based on respect and trust and are a present and stable adult.
You feel comfortable meeting both small children and teenagers. You can set boundaries in a respectful way and communicate clearly and pedagogically. You contribute to a good working climate and find it easy to collaborate in a team.
You share Ersta's value base of seeing the whole person and our values; professionalism, trust, and hope.
