The Culture and Leisure Administration works to promote cultural and leisure activities in the municipality. We are a politically governed service organization where the residents are our clients. Together, we find new ideas and solutions that contribute to residents' quality of life, sustainability, health, integration, and reduced exclusion.

The administration consists of five areas of activity:

• Culture school, youth culture, open youth activities, and leisure activities
• Recreation, sports, swimming pool, ice rink, and association activities
• Performing arts, film, theater, art, music, museums, libraries, cultural heritage, Finnish administrative area, and minority work

Young in Sigtuna includes two open youth activities, the Youth House in Märsta and Valsta Youth Center, as well as the mobile activity that takes place in various locations where young people meet. There is also an association-driven youth center in Rosersberg. The mission of Young in Sigtuna is based on the rights, participation, and organization of young people. Our goal is to give young people the opportunity to influence and affect our activities and lead their own projects based on shared goals. We develop the activities together with the youth.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a leisure leader with music and stage responsibility for Young in Sigtuna, which means you will be responsible, together with colleagues, for the music studio and the activities related to it. You will coach young people in digital music creation and help organize their own music events, which may involve performing on stage. Collaborations with the culture school or other activities are part of the role.

In the role of leisure leader, we want you to be a role model for young people and create safe relationships based on mutual respect and trust. You provide young people with the opportunity to influence and affect decisions about what happens at the youth center. You should be familiar with and work to ensure that young people are aware of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and fundamental human rights. You focus on the well-being, development, and lifelong learning of young people and are responsive to fluctuations and trends in society that affect their health and well-being. Furthermore, you open up opportunities for young people to participate in activities within sports and associations, cultural life, and society at large.

As a colleague and employee, we want you to be co-creative, collaborate, and be helpful and loyal to colleagues and management. You follow the organization's routines and safety regulations and work for a good working environment by being a role model and an example. You take particular responsibility for long-term annual planning as well as daily responsibilities for practical tasks, such as purchasing, scheduling, and maintaining meeting places. The assignment also includes project management, event planning, or responsibility for technology, cleaning, and preparing before or after activities and events. You initiate collaborations with other activities and organizations for activities, development, information, and dialogue, create forums for youth learning and opportunities to try new things, and represent the organization in meetings with young people, parents, and civil society.

QUALIFICATIONS

For this role, we see that you have a leisure leader education or equivalent education. We also see that you have a musical background as an educator or experience as an active musician and/or have worked with music production and digital music creation as well as organizing music events. It is also an advantage if you have work experience with young people. A B driver's license is also required for the position, as the role involves travel between different activities.
