Personal Assistant Needed for Young Woman in Stockholm

Introduction

Plusfamiljen is now seeking a personal assistant for a young woman living in central Stockholm. We are a family-owned assistance company with over 20 years of experience supporting people with disabilities so they can live their lives fully on their own terms. About the Role

As a personal assistant, you will work closely with a young woman who partially alternates between a wheelchair and a walker to walk independently. She has limited mobility and speech ability, and you will be responsible for providing support in daily life, which includes assistance with hygiene, personal care, as well as help with daily chores and errands. Nutrition is provided via PEG, and breathing is supported with a tracheostomy tube, which means you will receive relevant training upon hiring to be able to take on delegated tasks. You will become an important part of her life and contribute to her ability to participate in daily activities two days a week and engage in daily physical training.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, the following qualifications are required:

• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Good communication skills, especially in understanding and meeting needs.

Other desirable qualifications:

• Solid knowledge of care and hygiene practices.
• Extensive experience working with people with disabilities.
• Good physical strength and endurance to safely and effectively perform lifts and transfers.
• A light-hearted attitude towards outings and trips that may take place outside the person's residence.

Job Responsibilities

Your job responsibilities will include a range of support measures to ensure a safe and comfortable daily life for the woman. You will assist with:

• Daily errands and household chores.
• Help with hygiene and personal care.
• Assistance during meals, including handling PEG.
• Support during training and participation in daily activities.
• Social support and contributing to an active and meaningful daily life.

Working Hours and Employment Rate

We are looking for three candidates who can fill three different schedule slots on a 4-week rolling schedule with varying working hours as follows:

• 07:30 - 16:00 - every week Monday to Friday
• 12:30 - 21:00 - Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, except the fourth Friday.
• 09:00 - 15:00 - Tuesdays and Thursdays
• 15:00 - 21:00 - Tuesdays and Thursdays
• 07:30 - 15:00 - Saturdays and Sundays
• 11:30 - 21:00 - only every fourth Saturday
• 14:00 - 21:00 - Saturdays and Sundays

There will also be occasions for double assistance intended for training, moments that require transfers.

The employment rate is approximately 27-30 hours on average per week per schedule slot.
