Dedicated Preschool Assistant Wanted at Ugglums Preschool

We are now looking for a dedicated preschool assistant to join us at Ugglums Preschool during the spring term of 2026.

With us, the child is always at the center, and we strive to provide children with a safe, educational, and fun time together at preschool. Our preschool is inspired by the philosophy of Reggio Emilia.

Your task as a preschool assistant is to work with the team, based on the children's interests, needs, and the goals of the curriculum, to educate and teach the children. You create conditions for all children to play, learn, develop, and have fun together. Play and joyful learning are given ample space in everyday life. You are well acquainted with the preschool's educational mission and have a humanistic view of people.

The preschool is a democratic meeting place that values diversity, listening, and participation. It is a place for shared learning, creation of knowledge, culture, and identity. The educator's task is to listen to the children's experiences, thoughts, and ideas and based on this conduct teaching where the preschool's goals are in focus to further challenge the children.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a qualified preschool assistant and has experience working in a team where you have been involved in planning and implementing educational activities for preschool-aged children. You have knowledge of and experience with systematic quality work as a foundation and have the ability to translate theory into practice. Furthermore, you need to have experience using AAC in your work with children and knowledge of working with clarifying pedagogy. Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form is a prerequisite for the position.

It is an advantage if you have experience working based on the philosophy of Reggio Emilia, including project work with the hundred languages, as well as experience working with pedagogically accessible and stimulating learning environments.

In addition to the above, we want you to:

• Have good collaboration skills where you show curiosity and engagement and communicate clearly to build trusting relationships with both children, guardians, and colleagues.
• Be flexible in your approach.
• Have a clear focus on children's learning and start from a belief in the competent child.
• Be aware of the importance of pedagogical documentation and be well acquainted with digital tools.
• See reflection in the professional role as a necessity.
• Be active in developing a stimulating, joyful, and creative learning environment and have the ability to see and meet the individual child's need for support and challenge.
