Support Educators Wanted for Short-Term Stay and Supervision
We are now looking for two support educators for our unit for short-term stay and supervision for children and young people with disabilities!
The short-term service offers recreational activities after school and during school holidays, as well as respite for families during evenings and weekends in the form of short-term homes.
With us, children and young people of various ages and with different disabilities spend time. After the summer, we will move to completely new premises in Öjersjö.
The assignment involves contributing to a safe and qualitative stay based on current legislation, decisions, and implementation plans. As a support educator, you are responsible for ensuring that methods and working practices are implemented and developed in the organization. You take the initiative for action plans and new routines based on individual needs and support and guide colleagues in their daily work. You have overall responsibility for AAC and social documentation and keep yourself updated on working methods within LSS. You actively work for an ethical approach that promotes self-determination, participation, and integrity.
You work in close collaboration with the unit manager, and tasks may vary based on competence and interest. You are part of a network for support educators with opportunities for experience exchange and guidance from method developers. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends.
After the summer, we will take the next step and move into completely new premises in Öjersjö.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has a post-secondary education in the disability field that includes at least 200 YH credits or 60 higher education credits or equivalent, such as support educator, social worker, or social pedagogue. Furthermore, you need to have worked in a supervisory/mentoring or similar role previously. You have good knowledge of social documentation, evidence-based methods, and AAC. Experience working with children is an advantage. A driver's license is a requirement for the position.
As short-term stay is a changing activity, you need to be flexible, enjoy challenges, and be solution-focused. You should like working at a fast pace and be quick to adapt when new operational needs arise. You also have a well-developed pedagogical ability with a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and the different conditions of individuals. You adapt your way of conveying messages to the recipient.
We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. The selection process will be ongoing, so submit your application today!
Good to Know
Provided that you meet the mandatory requirements for the position, it is mandatory to undergo a digital language test to ensure competence at level B1 according to the Council of Europe's standard before the interview. Please note that the process will be interrupted if the language test is not passed. You will need to identify yourself with Bank-ID to take the language test.
