Adapted Primary School

The adapted school forms are a separate school type for students who are assessed as not having the prerequisites to meet the knowledge requirements of primary or secondary school due to an intellectual disability.

The adapted school forms have their own curriculum, and the teaching is tailored to each student's prerequisites and needs. Within the adapted school forms in Gotland, we teach students from grades 1-9 in adapted primary school and grades 1-4 in adapted secondary school.

Currently, we have about 80 students enrolled in adapted primary school and about 50 students enrolled in adapted secondary school. Our employees contribute to the learning and development of children, youth, and adults in Gotland. The activities within the adapted school forms are currently located in several schools around the island.

Who Are You?

We are looking for you who are a qualified special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities and are qualified to teach textile, wood, and metal handicrafts in the adapted primary school.

Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or disabilities is an advantage. A driver's license is desirable.

You have a strong interest in people and the ability to create good relationships. You are flexible, solution-oriented, and attentive to students' individual prerequisites.

You must be calm and pedagogical with great patience and the ability to create security for each student. You have a positive attitude towards work. You need to have clarity in your actions. You master Swedish fluently in speech and writing.
