Terra Novaskolan

Terra Novaskolan is a primary school with activities from preschool class to year 6. The school has an after-school center with three departments. The catchment area is Terra Nova, and currently, about 160 students attend here. Terra Novaskolan is located in a scenic area that, together with the schoolyard, offers many opportunities for outdoor learning and play. There are football fields, school forests, hills, and a skateboard park. We have organized break activities. The school has a kitchen and its own sports hall. The school has a high proportion of qualified and engaged teachers for primary school and after-school care who work to ensure that all students gain good knowledge and strong self-confidence. The school's guiding principles are: Safety, Knowledge, Participation, and Work Peace.

Your tasks

Terra Novaskolan's after-school center consists of three departments, of which two departments are from preschool class to grade 2, and the third from grade 3 and up. Your main task is to work together with other staff at the after-school center to ensure that the activities are conducted according to Lgr22. You are responsible for ensuring that the education is varied in both guided and free activities and that different materials and learning environments are offered and used to stimulate students' desire to play and learn. You therefore have the main responsibility for ensuring that the teaching at the after-school center is goal-oriented.

In collaboration with colleagues, you create engaging learning environments from a clear and relational perspective. You see good relationships with students and guardians as the natural starting point for your work. During the school day, you are partially involved as support in the classroom and/or responsible for break activities. The after-school center at Terra Novaskolan is a pilot school for working with PAX in after-school care.

Who are you?

You are a licensed teacher or are awaiting your license as a teacher in after-school care/leisure pedagogy. We are looking for someone who is well acquainted with the school's governing documents such as Lgr22 for primary school, the fourth chapter of the curriculum for after-school care, and the Education Act. You have a positive outlook and believe in every individual's desire to develop and learn. You are unpretentious and solution-focused and understand the benefits of working in a team and learning together. You are interested in working with PAX in after-school care.

You have knowledge of or an interest in learning about accessible learning environments and see the importance of adapting activities based on students' needs from a relational perspective. We are looking for a colleague who inspires, develops, and has an inclusive mindset where you adapt the learning environment so that all students can thrive. The position may be adjusted based on the applicant's qualifications.

About the Education and Labor Administration

As part of Region Gotland, we contribute to the learning and development of children, youth, and adults in the Education and Labor Administration. We are responsible for, among other things, preschools, primary schools, after-school care, adapted primary and secondary schools, cultural schools, upper secondary and adult education, labor market initiatives, youth centers, and the reception and establishment of newcomers.
