In Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people in all walks of life. We make each other better.
Gotland Resource School
Gotland Resource School welcomes students with extensive needs for special support.
We currently have about 60 students and approximately 30 staff members. The students require adaptations in the educational, social, and physical learning environment that are so significant that they cannot be met in the regular school environment. The resource school has smaller student groups, specific teacher competence, and the opportunity for individually tailored support.
The Speech and Language F-6 program operates at Väskinde School.
Your Responsibilities
The speech and language classes receive students with general language impairment. All staff work with language and communication throughout the school day. A language-developing approach in all subjects is essential for students to succeed in their knowledge development. The school uses adapted teaching materials, visual support such as picture support, structure support, and sign language support. You will teach grades 4-6 and serve as a mentor. The work involves close collaboration within the team, with special educators and speech therapists. Collaboration and collegial exchange also occur with speech and language 7-9 and with other units within Gotland Resource School.
Who Are You?
We are looking for a teacher with qualifications in mathematics and science subjects and knowledge of language-developing approaches. Experience working with students with language impairments and TAKK, as well as education in special education, is an advantage.
We seek an engaged employee who wants to be part of the development of Gotland Resource School. You are good at building relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.
You are accustomed to adapting and responding to different situations and to developing learning environments according to students' diverse needs. You are flexible, have good collaboration skills, easily establish good relationships, and cooperate with students, guardians, the team, the school's student health team, and school management. You see documentation and assessment of students' knowledge development as a natural part of your work.
Great emphasis is also placed on personal suitability.
