The adult education program includes education at basic and upper secondary levels, Swedish for immigrants, special educational activities, adapted education for adults, vocational training at upper secondary level and within higher vocational education.
The adult education program also includes a Learning Center that offers exam services, study and career guidance, libraries, and pedagogical support for students and citizens.
In total, the adult education program comprises about 90 employees, of which approximately 60 are teachers.
Region Gotland's wellness policy allows employees to engage in wellness activities during working hours. The wellness allowance is 3000 SEK/year.
Your Responsibilities
Within adult education, we offer teaching at basic and upper secondary levels for students who wish to continue their studies at university. We are now looking for a teacher in mathematics and natural sciences who will primarily teach at the upper secondary level, but work at the basic level may also be relevant. You are familiar with curricula, courses, subject levels, and other governing documents. You will be part of a cohesive group of upper secondary teachers who share experiences, knowledge, and methods to help students succeed in their studies. Collaboration also occurs with study and career counselors, support teams, and other staff to create the best possible study environment.
You will teach adult students with various backgrounds, interests, and needs, which is why individual adaptations, accessibility, and flexibility are very important principles for us within adult education. We offer our students flexible teaching, which means they can follow part or all of the instruction remotely as a complement to the classroom teaching.
You will work with your subjects, levels, or courses in the learning platform It’s Learning, where plans are available and assessments are made. This is also where a large part of the communication with students takes place. Therefore, it is important that you, as a teacher, have a structured and clear teaching setup so that students can easily access and follow the instruction.
Who Are You?
You should be a certified upper secondary teacher in mathematics, and it is advantageous if you are also qualified in natural sciences or other scientific subjects. Please attach your certification to your application.
Teaching experience from upper secondary school and/or adult education is desirable, and we are looking for someone who is adaptable and quickly embraces new knowledge by communicating at different levels.
You are solution-focused and create a sustainable working environment for yourself and your students through structured and goal-oriented planning.
