The folk high school is located in Hemse and Fårösund. The school works to develop people and their skills and knowledge, where education is an important part of the mission. Gotland Folk High School in Hemse offers courses in general studies, music, photography, textiles, and various short courses and summer courses. The school has its own restaurant and boarding facilities.

Your Responsibilities

We are now looking for a music teacher with a focus on vocals and choir who will also be responsible for the music program at Gotland Folk High School in Hemse!

You will be part of a team with other music teachers who together plan the content of the music program. You are responsible for your own teaching, but you can also collaborate and work thematically with other teachers and allow the participants' wishes to be a natural part of the content and structure.

The music program consists of two courses, a 1-2 year music program with about 15 participants and a project year with about 5 participants. In the music program, participants work with ensemble playing and individual instrument instruction. A significant focus of the education is on finding one's personal expression and becoming proficient at making music together. During the project year, participants work on their own projects aimed at producing their own music. You should be able to guide them in music production and artistic processes.

The position is a temporary contract, with the possibility of extension. It is a vacation position at 80-100% depending on the applicant's qualifications.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone who is primarily a vocal/choir educator, but competencies in teaching ensemble, music theory, stage performance, and piano are also desired. You have experience in music education in cultural schools, high schools, or folk high schools. You have a pedagogical education and relevant experience. Teacher training is an advantage.

Collaboration, communication, and relationship-building are personal competencies that we see you possess.

We are looking for someone who lives for music and enthusiastically shares your musical experiences and knowledge with the participants at the school.

About the Education and Employment Administration
